As a Police Officer, you will respond to emergencies, conduct investigations, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and safety. Duties Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents, providing assistance and ensuring public safety. Enforce traffic laws through patrols, traffic stops, and accident investigations, ensuring safe roadways for all users. Conduct criminal investigations by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing detailed reports in accordance with procedural law. Execute arrest procedures following established protocols while maintaining conflict management and use of force training standards. Perform surveillance activities to monitor suspicious behavior and support criminal investigations. Administer first aid and CPR when necessary, providing critical care until medical professionals arrive. Handle evidence law compliance during search and seizure procedures, ensuring proper documentation and chain of custody. Engage with the community through outreach programs to promote safety awareness and foster positive relationships. Maintain physical conditioning to meet the demands of the role, including driving standard passenger cars and handling firearms responsibly in law enforcement situations. Enforce local ordinances, animal handling regulations, immigration laws, and loss prevention policies as required. Skills Strong knowledge of criminal law experience, criminal procedure, evidence law, search and seizure law, and procedural law. Proficiency in report writing with clear documentation of incidents and investigations. Excellent driving skills with experience operating standard passenger cars safely under various conditions. Ability to handle firearms responsibly with proper firearms handling training specific to law enforcement standards. Effective conflict management skills coupled with use of force training to de-escalate tense situations. Knowledge of traffic laws, local ordinances, immigration law, animal care regulations, and fire safety protocols. Physical conditioning necessary for demanding duties such as pursuit driving, physical restraint techniques, and search procedures. Experience in criminal investigation techniques including surveillance operations and evidence collection. Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork while demonstrating integrity and professionalism at all times. Familiarity with security principles applicable to loss prevention and overall public safety initiatives. NC guidelines Must be at least 20 years of age. Must be a U.S. Citizen. High School Diploma of G.E.D. - College preferred Valid North Carolina Driver's License Must not have committed, been charged with or convicted of any Felony. Must not have committed, been charged with or convicted of any Class A-1 or Class 1 Misdemeanors. No Class 2 or Class 3 Misdemeanor convictions within the past five (5) years. 2 years' experience preferred. Must pass oral interview and panel interview. Successful completion of Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET). Must pass Personnel Evaluation test (Administered by Agency).
