The K-9 Responder Security Officer protects client sites by conducting patrols, monitoring access points, responding to incidents, and enforcing SEI and client policies. This role requires strong situational awareness, professional communication, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments. As a driving post, the position may involve travel, weekend availability, and accurate completion of daily activity and incident reports. Minimum Qualifications- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record that meets company standards.
- Able to obtain and maintain required security licenses, registrations, permits, and credentials for the assigned state or jurisdiction.
- Able to complete and maintain required armed security, firearms, First Aid, CPR, and AED training or certifications as applicable.
- 1+ year of verifiable security, military, law enforcement, first responder, or armed security experience preferred. Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct walking and vehicle patrols to identify and report safety or security concerns.
- Monitor buildings, doors, gates, windows, access points, surveillance systems, and assigned areas for unauthorized activity, hazards, leaks, fires, or policy violations.
- Verify IDs and credentials, manage visitor or truck logs, provide escorts as requested, and assist employees, visitors, and clients professionally.
- Respond to alarms, emergencies, incidents, and suspicious activity according to post orders and company procedures.
- Complete daily activity, incident, maintenance, parking, and other required reports using assigned systems.
- Maintain a clean uniform and professional appearance. Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong situational awareness, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
- Ability to remain calm, de-escalate conflicts, multitask, and respond effectively under pressure.
- Ability to follow written instructions, complete logs and forms, and write clear reports.
- Basic computer skills, including tablets, reporting systems, and Microsoft Office preferred.
- Professional communication and customer-service skills.
- Weekend availability as needed. Physical Requirements With or without reasonable accommodation; subject to change based on client needs.
- Stand or sit for at least 1 hour without a break.
- Walk at least ½ mile without stopping. Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher.
- 3+ years of verifiable security, military, law enforcement, first responder, or armed security experience.
- Knowledge of access control systems.
- Conflict resolution, de-escalation, active shooter response, FEMA ICS/NIMS, HAZMAT, or related specialized training.
