Safety-sensitive generally means that a position involves some aspect of a heightened danger that requires an employee's full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute his or her job, No prior experience is necessary, we will train. You will work approximately 14-16 days a month . You will receive 4+ days of training before you start your shift. Pay starts at salary based on $17.79 per hour. Longevity Pay, Health Insurance (dental and vision), Paid Vacations, and much more . You must fill out a paper application in person at the Love County Clerk's Office, located at 405 W. Main, Marietta, OK 73448. A Detention Deputy is responsible for the following duties. Safety and security of our officers, the facility, and offenders in our custody. Processing offenders in and out of custody. Escorting Offenders to court, medical, etc. Managing, Supervising, Monitoring offenders. Managing doors, intercom system, surveillance, and answering phones. Logs / incident reports, etc. Qualifications Strong communication skills Ability to manage conflicts effectively Basic knowledge of security protocols Familiarity with CCTV systems Certification in First Aid and CPR is a plus Interest in law enforcement practices Capable of writing clear and concise reports No prior experience required; training will be provided Physical Demands & Work Environment Perform defense tactics, if de-escalation doesn't work. Frequent contact with hostile/combative inmates. Prolonged sitting, standing, walking, ascending, and descending stairs. Potential exposure to odors, fragrances, and communicable diseases. Required to lift up to 15 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Required to be able to walk 8 - 12,000 steps a shift.
