Qualifications:
Minimum High School Diploma or GED. Must be at least 21 years of age. Two years of service in the United States Armed Services (including Reserve or National Guard), OR Any combination of two years of experience in physical security (as a security officer - armed or unarmed) and service with the United States Armed Services (including Reserves or National Guard), OR Associate's degree in a Security or Law Enforcement related field, OR Successful completion of a police officer's basic training academy. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license. Must meet or exceed the Minimum Medical and Physical Standards for an Armed Security Officers outlined in Interagency Security Committee, Best Practices for Armed Security Officers in

(April 2013, 2nd Edition). Must satisfactorily qualify with a 9 mm semi-auto pistol handgun and M4 semi-automatic rifle, and shotgun qualification course administered by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) quarterly. Must complete and successfully pass the FLETC Active Shooter Threat Training Program (ASTTP). The PAT requirements are in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Federal Protective Services requirements. All armed officers must able to exhibit full range of motion, able to easily get down to and up from a kneeling position, lift 40 pounds minimum from floor to waist, bench press at least 40 percent of his or her body weight, perform sit-ups and push-ups continuously for at least 30 seconds each and complete a .5 mile course as a timed event based on age and gender.
