Job Description
Description Position Description Under the direction and supervision of the Practice Area Manager, provides a wide range of support to the H-2B team by drafting and reviewing work, communicating with clients regarding their H-2B visa petitions, and evaluating results to meet the goals and objectives of the firm. Supervisory Responsibilities Reviews and provides constructive feedback for legal documents drafted by Paralegals; Assists with providing initial and refresher training to the H-2B team throughout the year. Duties/Responsibilities Assists the Practice Area Manager with managing the H-2B visa process and working with a team of Case Managers, Paralegals, and Operations staff; Supports the Practice Area Manager with phone calls, reviewing and drafting emails to clients, and reviewing legal forms and documents; Assists with developing case strategies for H-2B visa petitions; Conducts client calls to discuss H-2B visa cases and ensure goals and needs are being met; Corresponds with clients regarding case status, legal, and non-legal questions involving their cases (ex: what additional documents are needed/case status/etc.); Collaborates with the Practice Area Manager to assist with reviewing legal documentation for the H-2B visa process, including Prevailing Wage Determinations (PWDs), job orders, and evidence of seasonality; Reviews and provides constructive feedback for legal documents drafted by Case Managers, Paralegals, and Operations staff; Reviews supporting documents provided by clients and ensure that they contain the required information, make edits where necessary; Assists with drafting legal documentation and moving cases forward in the H-2B visa process; and Assists with monitoring internal and external deadlines within the practice area. Qualifications Required Skills & Competencies Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; Demonstrates professional conduct and presence, exercising tact, diplomacy and discretion in sensitive matters; Ability to work both independently and collaboratively; Ability to demonstrate support for and to help others successfully manage organizational change; Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Superb time management skills with the ability to assign and delegate tasks; and Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Education and Experience Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school Licensed attorney in good standing or actively preparing to sit for / awaiting results from the Massachusetts Bar Exam Strong interest in immigration law and client advisory work Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer; and Regularly required to stand or walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop and/or bend. Schedule This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility based on business needs. Additional hours may occasionally be required. Compensation Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The salary range reflects long-term earning potential within the role, with growth opportunities based on performance and experience. Candidates with prior H-2B experience will be considered toward the higher end of the range.
