Job Overview:
Ionia County is conveniently located between Lansing and Grand Rapids with I-96 passing through the county. We are a smaller office serving a rural community with the unique situation of being home to three prison facilities. The APA will be exposed to all responsibilities and facets of a
Prosecutor's Office:
civil infractions, misdemeanors, felonies, juvenile delinquency, abuse neglect, and more. The APA will be responsible for but not limited to: reviewing warrant and petition requests, conducting plea negotiations for both juvenile and adult defendants, drafting and responding to motions/appeals, formal hearings, trials, and representing DHHS in Abuse/Neglect cases. Strong oral advocacy skills are required, as the APA will be expected to conduct various hearings, preliminary exams, bench and jury trials.
Minimum Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school Member in good standing with the
Michigan State Bar Compensation Information:
Wage range of $76,674 to $93,912 dependent on applicant's relevant experience, with additional: on-call pay, available yearly step increases, and benefits.
