Job Description

Job Summary A respected legal services firm in Winter Park, FL is seeking an Associate Attorney with litigation experience to join its medical malpractice defense practice. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a motivated litigator who wants to take on meaningful case responsibility while working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced civil litigation attorney seeking stability, professional development, and a positive legal team environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and support all phases of civil litigation matters, with a focus on medical malpractice defense and related claims.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery, and other litigation documents.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, case conferences, and other litigation proceedings.
  • Review, analyze, and summarize case documents, medical records, evidence, and expert materials.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, court personnel, and internal team members.
  • Maintain organized case files, calendars, deadlines, and matter-related documentation. Compensation and Benefits
  • $100,000 to $150,000 base salary per year, depending on experience.

  • Manage civil litigation matters from case development through hearings, depositions, and resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Review and analyze case evidence, medical records, discovery, and expert materials.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and legal professionals throughout the litigation process.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar is required.
  • Approximately 2 to 10 years of litigation experience is required.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and drafting skills.
  • Experience taking depositions and attending hearings.
  • Writing sample required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and deadline management.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys, staff, and clients.
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented approach with the ability to manage significant responsibility. Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical malpractice defense experience.
  • Professional liability, healthcare defense, insurance defense, or other civil litigation defense experience.
  • Experience handling complex case files and working with expert witnesses.
  • Interest in building a long-term career within a respected defense litigation practice.
