An established California employment law defense firm with over 20 years in practice is seeking a Legal Assistant with 3+ years of civil litigation experience to join its team in person in Camarillo, California. This role will support attorneys handling employment litigation, class actions, and PAGA matters on behalf of employers. The ideal professional is a proactive self-starter with excellent proofreading, document formatting, writing, grammar, organizational, and interpersonal skills. The firm offers a casual, collegial office environment and a Monday-Friday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., based on a 37.5-hour workweek.
Offer Salary range:
$68,250-$81,900+, contingent on experience Full-time, in-person position 37.5-hour workweek totaling approximately 1,950 hours annually Monday-Friday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 401(k) retirement plan Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance Paid vacation and sick time Casual, professional, and friendly working environment Qualifications 3+ years of legal assistant experience supporting civil litigation matters preferred Strong civil litigation experience within a law firm environment Employment litigation defense experience preferred Class action and PAGA experience is a plus Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel Demonstrated knowledge of electronic filing procedures in California state and federal courts Experience reserving hearing dates, coordinating court reporters, and managing litigation-related logistics Excellent proofreading, document formatting, writing, grammar, and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple active matters Proactive and self-directed approach with the initiative to identify and complete necessary tasks Ability to work full time and in person in Camarillo, California Responsibilities Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to employment law attorneys Prepare, proofread, format, revise, and finalize pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and other legal documents Electronically file and serve documents in California state courts, federal courts, and other applicable venues Reserve hearing dates and coordinate court reporters, depositions, appearances, and litigation-related services Maintain attorney calendars, court deadlines, case schedules, and internal docketing systems Monitor multiple active matters and help ensure that cases continue moving forward efficiently Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files Assist with class action, PAGA, and other employment litigation matters Coordinate professionally with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, vendors, and other parties Manage Outlook communications, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and other administrative materials Anticipate attorney and case needs while independently following through on assignments Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism across all work Benefits Medical/Dental/Vision 401(k) Origination Credits Billable Hour Bonus Hybrid or Remote For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
