Paralegal/Legal Assistant I Basic Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least oneyear of study.
• At least one year of litigation paralegal experience required.
• At least one year of experience in automated litigation support.
• Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legalresearch resources.
• Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools suchas LEXIS and Westlaw.
• Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases(such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.
• Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
• Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

USCIS Office of the Chief Counsel, 5900 Capital Gateway Drive, Camp Springs, MD 20746. The position iscurrently allowing for remote work; however, this is subject to change. For this reason, only individuals in theWashington DC metro area will be considered.5.1. Workdays and Work HoursEach position is considered full-time, which is 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day. The contractor must work the 8hours/day, between the hours of 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, ET; the proposed schedule must receive prior approval,and the work schedule is expected to be the same as the supported office personnel. During their core hoursshift, all staff must be available via MS Teams and for phone calls; these are the preferred methods ofcommunication. In addition, due to the demands of active litigation, overtime hours will be occasionally necessaryfor time-sensitive projects. If overtime is needed, overtime shall only be performed with the prior approval of theDOJ COR and Leidos in accordance with contractor procedures.
