- Serve as a welcoming, professional, and compassionate first point of contact for clients and callers
- Maintain and organize electronic and paper case files using the firm's software and established filing system
- Learn and consistently follow the office's procedures for opening, maintaining, updating, and closing files
- Assist with preparing documents, pleadings, correspondence, discovery materials, exhibits, and other case-related materials
- Proofread documents carefully for spelling, grammar, formatting, and other details
- Assist with electronic filings with the court, including organizing documents, confirming filing requirements, monitoring filing status, and maintaining records of submissions
- Calendar court dates, hearings, deadlines, meetings, appointments, and other important events accurately
- Assist with preparing hearing and trial materials, including binders, exhibits, witness information, and organized document sets
- Track deadlines and bring important dates, tasks, and follow-up items to the attorney's attention
- Monitor incoming mail, email, court notices, and other communications, ensuring that items are properly routed, saved, calendared, or addressed
- Identify inconsistencies, missing information, approaching deadlines, or potential administrative problems and bring them to the attorney's attention promptly
- Perform other administrative and case-support duties that contribute to the effective operation of the practice Skills Prior legal office or professional administrative experience.
