A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
Preparing, reviewing, and organizing legal documents for real estate closings, family law matters, and estate administrations Preparing closing disclosures and other documentation for real estate transactions Gathering, organizing, and maintaining information and documents for attorneys Preparing materials, exhibits, and supporting documentation for court hearings and trials Managing the flow of paperwork and information throughout the firm and ensuring important deadlines are met Scheduling meetings, appointments, and other legal matters Answering phones and communicating professionally with clients, attorneys, courts, and other contacts Meeting with clients in person and communicating with them by phone and email Using law firm software and other computer programs Using QuickBooks for applicable firm-related tasks Assisting attorneys with day-to-day administrative and legal support as needed What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Highly organized and detail-oriented Dependable and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Professional and comfortable communicating with clients Comfortable working independently while also being part of a team Willing to learn new software, procedures, and areas of law Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information A positive, personable individual who enjoys helping people Paralegal experience is preferred, but we are willing to provide training to the right candidate.
