What they do
A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing administrative support to attorneys and staff members;
- Answering and directing phone calls with professionalism and courtesy;
- Greeting clients and visitors and ensuring a welcoming office environment;
- Managing attorney calendars, scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings;
- Preparing correspondence, documents and reports using Microsoft Office;
- Organizing and maintaining physical and electronic files;
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail and email correspondence;
- Assisting with billing, timekeeping and expense tracking as needed;
- Coordinating travel arrangements and logistics;
- Performing general office duties including copying, scanning and filing;
- Supporting special projects and firm events as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred;
- 1-3 years of administrative or office support experience (legal environment preferred);
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.);
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities;
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills;
- Attention to detail and accuracy;
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion;
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn;
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
Salary range:
$50K-$65K annually, paid at an hourly rate, plus bonus potential tied to performance metrics. The above salary range is the good faith range for this position at the firm at the time of posting. Final determination of compensation will incorporate a number of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience and qualifications.
