Job Description

Responsibilities You will provide technical and paralegal services for attorneys assigned to the Office of Advice Counsel. You will prepare documents and orders, serve legal documents, updates calendars, prepare status reports, review transcripts, and review policies and procedures. You will drive letters and documents for review, create calendar due dates, and maintain files. You will conduct necessary research, update databases, assist with the preparation of presentations and correspondence, and perform work on special projects. You will perform a variety of other duties related to procuring supplies and maintaining inventory, documenting processes and procedures, and updating the OAC library. Minimum Qualifications A high school diploma and experience in providing administrative support for an attorney(s) or a legal office. Preferred Qualifications A high school diploma and four years' work experience directly related to the area of employment. Knowledge of personal computers and word processing. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures. Knowledge of applicable terminology/research practices and relevant laws and regulations. Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize tasks. Ability to communicate effectively and courteously, both orally and in writing, with internal and external customers and members of the public. Ability to perform work in a fast-paced setting. Other Requirements Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing. May require occasional work outside of normal office hours. May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Daily filing, data entry, telephone and computer use. Frequent communication and interaction with internal and external customers required.
