Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to support our legal team across a diverse range of practice areas. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent research abilities, and a solid understanding of legal procedures. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic law office environment, providing essential administrative and case management support to attorneys and clients alike. Duties Assist with legal research across various practice areas Manage legal documents using document management systems such as iManage and Westlaw; review and organize case files efficiently. Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents including contracts, pleadings, correspondence, and reports with precision. Conduct document review and data entry to ensure accuracy and completeness of case files. Support litigation processes through case management activities and coordination of discovery procedures. Perform administrative tasks such as filing, scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and maintaining client records. Prepare for client interviews by organizing pertinent case information and assisting attorneys with interview logistics. Utilize legal research tools like LexisNexis and Westlaw to gather relevant case law and legal precedents. Provide executive administrative support including phone etiquette, organizational assistance, and clerical duties to ensure smooth office operations. Qualifications Paralegal experience or prior legal administrative experience is preferred. Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear legal documents; excellent proofreading and transcription abilities are essential. Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills including professional phone etiquette; ability to interact professionally with clients and team members. Knowledge of project management principles related to legal case workflows is desirable. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high standards of accuracy in data entry and filing tasks. Pay:
$11.00 - $20.00 per hour
