Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) to lead the organizations Safety Management System (SMS), Quality Management System (QMS), and overall HSEQ strategy across a nationwide air medical operation.

This executive leadership position reports directly to the President and plays a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance, fostering a world-class safety culture, and driving continuous operational improvement throughout the organization.

Position Summary

The Director of HSEQ provides strategic leadership for all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality programs while ensuring compliance with applicable FAA, OSHA, EPA, CAMTS, IS-BAO, ANSI, and other regulatory requirements. This individual serves as the organizations safety leader, partnering with executive leadership and operational teams to improve safety performance and quality outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

Advise executive leadership on Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality matters.

Develop, implement, and oversee a robust 14 CFR Part 5-compliant Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Management System (QMS).

Develop and maintain HSEQ policies, procedures, manuals, and training programs.

Interpret and ensure compliance with FAA, OSHA, EPA, CERCLA, CAMTS, ANSI, IS-BAO, and other applicable regulations.

Monitor HSEQ Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and communicate performance trends.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives across all operational departments.

Develop and deliver HSEQ training and employee presentations.

Assist departments in implementing safety and quality improvements.

Provide quarterly HSEQ performance summaries to executive leadership and employees.

Chair the Operational Leadership Team (OLT) meetings.

Chair Safety Management Review Team (SMRT) meetings.

Chair Post-Incident Review Board meetings.

Participate in accident investigations and prepare required reports.

Manage the companys Safety Incentive Program.

Oversee the Short Service Employee (SSE) Program.

Collect, analyze, and distribute incident and accident trend data.

Conduct routine operational base visits to observe operations and obtain employee feedback.

Maintain ownership of HSEQ manuals, policies, procedures, and checklists.

Serve as the organizations Fatigue Risk Manager.

Manage HSEQ-related reporting systems, workflows, and dashboards.

Lead HSEQ orientation during new-hire onboarding.

Chair monthly Regional Safety meetings.

Participate in industry safety organizations and conferences.

Manage annual OSHA and environmental reporting requirements.

Promote operational excellence, customer service, innovation, and fiscal responsibility.
