Safety & Security Manager Scotts Valley, CA | Full-Time About the Role 1440 Multiversity is looking for a Safety & Security Manager to help provide a safe and secure environment for our guests, employees, visitors, and campus. Reporting to the Director of Facilities and Safety, this role oversees the day-to-day Safety & Security operation, including the team, emergency preparedness, incident response, investigations, training, inspections, and loss prevention. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable leading a team, responding when things don't go as planned, and working across departments to make safety part of how we operate every day. What You'll Do Lead daily campus safety and security operations, including staffing, patrols, access control, and opening and closing procedures. Train, coach, schedule, and support Safety & Security team members. Help maintain emergency preparedness and response plans, including
SEMS/NIMS
procedures, emergency drills, supplies, and communication. Respond to campus emergencies involving medical situations, fire, hazardous materials, natural disasters, power outages, and other incidents. Investigate and document accidents, injuries, property loss, security concerns, and other incidents. Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and work with campus leaders to address concerns. Coordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, emergency responders, and outside partners when needed. Support safety training, including First Aid/CPR, golf cart safety, and emergency preparedness. Monitor fire and life-safety systems and ensure safety equipment is maintained and ready for use. Oversee campus access, parking, lost and found, incident reporting, and other security programs. Partner with leaders across campus to reinforce safe work practices while maintaining the welcoming guest experience 1440 is known for. What We're Looking For Experience in safety, security, emergency preparedness, loss prevention, or a related field. Previous experience leading and developing a team. Strong judgment and the ability to remain calm and make decisions during an emergency. Experience conducting investigations and documenting incidents. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to identify risks and follow through on corrective action. Comfortable working with employees, guests, vendors, and emergency response agencies. A hands-on leadership style and willingness to be visible throughout campus operations. Why 1440?
