An Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Director is responsible for directing the strategic approach to managing the environmental impact of an organization on the surrounding area. Responsible for ensuring that the organization has a systematic approach to complying with environmental regulations, such as managing waste or air emissions. Will liaise with directors of other sections of the organization to ensure that strategic goals align with those of the environmental health and safety team.
Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Air Force Occupational Safety & Health (AFOSH) and Traffic Support specialist to enhance safety protocols and traffic management within our operations. This role is vital in ensuring compliance with federal safety standards, environmental regulations, and workplace safety policies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of occupational health, environmental management systems, and traffic safety procedures. Your expertise will help foster a safe, compliant, and efficient environment for all personnel and visitors. Duties Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs aligned with AFOSH standards to promote a culture of safety across all operations. Conduct comprehensive hazard assessments, root cause analyses, and incident investigations to identify safety risks and develop corrective actions. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations such as EPA standards, hazardous materials handling, and environmental health policies. Oversee traffic support functions including vehicle flow management, traffic control plans, and pedestrian safety measures on-site. Maintain accurate documentation of safety inspections, incident reports, training records, and regulatory compliance documentation. Provide training sessions on workplace safety, hazard recognition, first aid procedures (including CPR), OSHA regulations, and environmental management systems. Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure ongoing compliance with occupational health laws and environmental standards in manufacturing or operational settings. Skills Extensive knowledge of AFOSH standards, OSHA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and environmental regulatory compliance. Strong background in workplace safety practices, hazard identification, risk mitigation strategies, and root cause analysis. Proficiency in report writing, safety audits, incident investigations, and developing corrective action plans. Experience with environmental management systems (EMS), environmental health programs, and regulatory/legal compliance standards in production environments. Certified in first aid and CPR; familiarity with OSHA training requirements is highly desirable. Ability to interpret complex safety data and communicate effectively with diverse teams at all levels of the organization.
