•they will be trained if they do not have GMP experience Background in ulitilies/ power & distriubution is usually very transferrable to this role You will bring a strong construction safety background and the ability to support project teams through field engagement, technical guidance, and collaboration with site and corporate safety resources. Advanced expertise is required in several of the following disciplines: Construction safety management Subcontractor and trade-partner safety Cranes, rigging, and critical lifts Excavation, trenching, and underground utilities Job hazard analysis and safety culture development Duties/Accountabilities include:
Program Management:
Support the construction safety program and serve as the on-site safety resource for project teams and trade partners. Develop project safety plans covering site logistics, emergency response, permits, and high-risk work controls. Ensure compliance with OSHA, applicable regulations, owner standards, and contractual safety requirements. Implement field inspections and audits to verify controls before and during construction activities. Report safety performance, corrective actions, leading indicators, and emerging risks to project leadership. Support other EHS department safety programs and projects as needed.
Client Support:
Partner with owners, project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to deliver safe construction operations. Integrate safety into pre-task planning, coordination meetings, toolbox talks, and field routines. Use safety metrics, audit findings, and field observations to drive site action plans and improvement. Lead job and activity hazard analyses; verify controls, permits, and competent-person coverage. Review scope, schedule, design, and logistics changes for safety impacts before work proceeds. Assess high-risk work, including falls, struck-by hazards, confined spaces, electrical work excavation, and lifting. Verify safe-work procedures for high-risk activities through inspections and corrective-action follow-through. Investigate incidents and near misses; implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree Master's degree and 2 years of experience Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience Associate's degree and 8 years of experience High school diploma / GED and 10 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong understanding of commercial and industrial construction operations, including multi
•employer work sites. Ability to partner with and effectively influence staff and management Knowledge of OSHA construction standards and applicable federal, state, and local construction safety regulations. Demonstrated knowledge of construction safety principles, risk-control methods, regulatory requirements, and practical field application. Strong communication, presentation, program-development, and construction project
•management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software systems Top 3
