Job Description

Overview Homestyle Direct is a well-established and growing home-delivered meal service with over 20 years in business. We are seeking an experienced FSQA Manager to lead food safety and quality assurance operations at our Lewisburg, TN facility. This role provides strategic oversight and hands-on leadership to ensure all products meet the highest standards of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in a cold-storage production environment. The FSQA Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the facility's food safety and quality programs, including HACCP, SSOP, and SQF systems. This role ensures full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and customer regulatory requirements, leads audits and inspections, and partners closely with plant leadership to build and sustain a strong food safety culture across the organization. Responsibilities Food Safety & Quality Leadership Lead all food safety and quality assurance programs at the facility, ensuring consistent execution and documentation. Own and maintain the facility's HACCP plan, SSOPs, and SQF (or equivalent GFSI) certification, reassessing and updating as needed. Develop, implement, and continuously improve food safety and quality policies, procedures, and standards. Serve as the facility's subject matter expert on food safety and regulatory compliance matters. Regulatory Compliance & Audits Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and all applicable state and local food safety regulations. Lead and coordinate internal and external audits, including customer, regulatory, and third-party certification audits. Maintain audit readiness at all times and drive timely corrective and preventive action (CAPA) following findings. Partner with corporate leadership to ensure alignment with company-wide food safety and quality standards. Team Leadership & Training Manage, mentor, and develop the FSQA team, including quality technicians and coordinators. Train employees at all levels on food safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and food safety ownership across all departments. Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement Monitor quality trends, product testing results, and customer feedback to identify and address risks. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for quality deviations, complaints, and non-conformances. Ensure cold chain integrity, FIFO practices, labeling accuracy, and packaging standards are consistently met. Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce defects, rework, and food safety risk. Cros Functional Partnership Partner with Operations, Shipping, and Sanitation teams to maintain compliant, efficient, and safe production processes. Collaborate with HR and Safety on training content, incident investigations, and policy updates. Provide regular reporting to plant and corporate leadership on food safety and quality performance metrics. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered. 3-5+ years of experience in food safety/quality assurance, with prior supervisory or management experience required. Working knowledge of HACCP, SSOP, and SQF or other GFSI-recognized food safety systems required; PCQI certification a plus. Strong understanding of
FDA/USDA
regulatory requirements for food manufacturing. Demonstrated experience leading audits and managing regulatory or customer inspections. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to train and influence staff at all levels. Comfortable working in and around a freezer/cold-storage environment (temperatures as low as -10°F) for periods of time. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Pay:
$64,856.65 - $80,838.12 per year
