Position Summary This role is a visible, trusted presence in the field: walking job sites, coaching crews, and catching problems before they become incidents. This role partners with Project Managers and Operations Managers to build safety into every project plan from day one. The Safety Manager reports to the HR Manager. Essential Job Functions Field Safety Oversight & Reporting Conduct daily safety audits of job sites — commercial and residential — documenting findings and reporting them promptly. Identify hazards and unsafe practices, and follow up with field operations until corrective action is complete. Recommend training and process improvements based on audit findings and recurring trends. Maintain a defined, consistent on-site schedule aligned to the field's 6:30-7:00 AM start time — including at the Verona and Milwaukee locations — so safety support is there for crews from the moment their workday begins. Workers' Compensation Manage workers' compensation claims from first report of injury through resolution, serving as the primary point of contact with the insurance broker and carrier. Coordinate light-duty and return-to-work arrangements with field operations and HR. Safety Training & Onboarding Deliver safety training and onboarding to all new hires prior to field assignment. Facilitate bi-weekly toolbox talks across crews and track attendance and completion. Safety Program & Documentation Keep the company safety manual up to date, revising policies as regulations, equipment, or operations change. Log incidents and maintain required safety records — including the OSHA log and

log — as they occur, ensuring accuracy and timely annual posting. Broker & Carrier Relationship Meet with the insurance broker at least annually to review safety trends, claims metrics, and program performance. PPE & Safety Equipment Maintain PPE standards, inventory, and distribution across all crews. Conduct quarterly reviews of safety equipment and build a maintenance system and schedule that field operations follows to keep equipment current between reviews. Project Safety Planning Fully own, develop, and adjust the safety plan for each project as needed, ensuring Project Managers and Operations Managers enforce it consistently in the field. Define KPIs from the safety plan and measure performance against them on a quarterly basis. DOT & Fleet Safety Partner with HR on DOT compliance requirements including necessary safety equipment for vehicles and driver qualification. Fleet management system — monitoring driver behavior and telematics data and addressing at-risk trends with drivers. Experience 3+ years of experience in safety, risk management, or a related field, ideally within construction or field services. log. Familiarity with DOT compliance requirements for commercial fleets. Strong presentation and facilitation skills for delivering training and toolbox talks. Detail-oriented with strong documentation and record-keeping habits. Ability to build effective working relationships with brokers, carriers, Project Managers, and field crews. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and fleet management/telematics software. Licenses, Certifications & Travel Valid and insurable driver's license. OSHA 30 certification required, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire;

Physical Requirements and Work Environment This role involves regular presence on active job sites, in shops, and in yard environments. The Safety Manager is expected to: Walk, climb, and navigate safely on uneven terrain and active job sites. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Work in varying weather conditions and temperatures during field visits and inspections. Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times on job sites.
