Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking energetic and dedicated Class B commercial license drivers to join our team for Paratransit services. This full-time position offers weekend schedules at a competitive hourly rate, providing vital transportation assistance to diverse passenger groups, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized care. As a key member of our transportation team, you will ensure safe, reliable, and courteous service while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Your role will be instrumental in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the highest standards of passenger safety and comfort. Responsibilities Safely operate vehicles with a Class B commercial driver's license to transport passengers on scheduled routes, including weekends. Assist passengers with wheelchair assistance, boarding, and disembarking to ensure comfort and safety. Follow all traffic laws, transportation safety regulations, and vehicle codes during daily operations. Respond quickly and effectively to traffic changes or emergencies, including emergency stop procedures and emergency response protocols. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with passengers, managing behavior, and addressing individual needs professionally. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any mechanical issues promptly. Maintain accurate logs of trips, passenger counts, and safety checks in compliance with company policies and state regulations. Requirements Valid Class B commercial driver's license with a clean driving record. Valid DOT medical card Eligible to work on the East Bay Contract Proven experience in bus driving, transit operations, or school bus driving preferred. Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, transportation safety regulations, and emergency response procedures for transportation. Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment. Experience working with seniors is highly desirable. Familiarity with student discipline policies and behavior management techniques. CPR certification and first aid training are preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain upon hire is required.
