The Club at Kalea Bay offers five-star resort features, including pools, tennis courts, and two restaurants: Salt & Oak and the Driftwood Café. We are looking for a seasonal Executive Steward who would thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on maintaining exceptional cleanliness, organization, and operational excellence while supporting superior service for members and guests. The Executive Steward job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position. The start date is October 1, 2026, with May 31, 2027, as the end date.
Job Duties:
Oversee all steward operations to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across kitchens, storage areas, and back-of-house facilities. Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations (local, state, and federal). Manage, train, schedule, and evaluate stewarding staff to maintain operational efficiency and high standards. Maintain inventory of China, glassware, silverware, kitchen equipment, and cleaning supplies. Control stewarding labor and operating costs while maintaining quality standards. Coordinate with Executive Chef and Food & Beverage leadership to support daily operations and special events. Develop and enforce cleaning schedules, sanitation procedures, and preventive maintenance programs. Oversee proper handling, storage, and disposal of waste, recycling, and hazardous materials. Inspect kitchens and back-of-house areas regularly and address deficiencies promptly. Ensure proper use, care, and storage of all equipment to minimize breakage and loss. Assist with setup and breakdown for banquets, events, and outlets as needed. Support audits, health inspections, and internal quality assurance reviews.
Skills, Other Special Skills or Requirements:
This position operates in a private club setting within a commercial kitchen environment. The employee also works in a hot, humid, and noisy environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The kitchen floor may be slippery from moisture and grease. This role routinely uses sinks, dishwashers, and tools to clean kitchen appliances. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, garbage disposal, and cleaning chemicals. The employee may be exposed to hazards, including, but not limited to, cuts, slips, trips, falls, and burns. Frequent hand washing is required. Maybe required to move in and outdoors throughout the shift. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and occasionally taste or smell. The employee may occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The role frequently involves lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, including kitchen supplies and equipment. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Days and hours of work vary based on need. Early mornings, frequent evenings, and weekends, including holidays, work is required.
