Job Summary AKFA is seeking a hands-on HSE / Safety Officer to manage on-site occupational safety during the equipment installation and commissioning phases of our aluminum manufacturing facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky. This role requires a site-based safety professional to enforce OSHA compliance, conduct daily inspections, manage risk assessments, and coordinate safety protocols across internal teams, contractors, and equipment vendors on an active installation site. Production Ave, 1309, Bowling Green, Kentucky 42101, US Responsibilities Monitor daily installation and construction activities for compliance with applicable OSHA and site safety requirements. Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions or practices. Ensure workers properly use required PPE and follow established safety procedures. Conduct or coordinate toolbox talks, safety briefings and job hazard assessments. Monitor hot work, lifting/rigging, work at height, electrical work, confined-space activities and other high-risk operations, as applicable. Support preparation and implementation of Job Hazard Analyses (JHA/JSA) and Safe Work Procedures. Maintain safety documentation, inspection records and incident reports. Investigate incidents and near misses and recommend corrective actions. Coordinate safety requirements among AKFA personnel, contractors, equipment suppliers and installation crews. Stop or escalate unsafe work when necessary. Support emergency preparedness and site safety procedures. Assist with compliance with applicable federal, state and local occupational safety requirements. Experience Previous experience as an HSE Officer, Safety Coordinator, Safety Specialist, EHS Specialist or Site Safety Manager. Experience in industrial equipment installation, manufacturing, construction or commissioning projects. Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements applicable to general industry and/or construction. Experience conducting site inspections, JHAs/JSAs, toolbox talks and incident investigations. Ability to communicate effectively with skilled trades and management. OSHA-related training/certification required; OSHA 30 strongly preferred. Manufacturing plant, mechanical installation, welding, electrical or heavy industrial safety experience is highly desirable. $35,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
