Baltimore Metropolitan Area Position Summary The Sales Executive is responsible for developing new business and driving profitable revenue growth for Kinetix Fire & Life Safety. The primary focus of this position is the identification, development, and closing of recurring fire alarm and sprinkler inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) contracts within the assigned Baltimore Metropolitan Area sales territory. This is primarily a new-business development role requiring consistent prospecting, relationship development, opportunity management, and follow-through. The Sales Executive will work closely with the Sales Manager, Account Managers, Operations, estimating resources, and field leadership to develop accurate scopes of work and competitive proposals that meet customer requirements while supporting Kinetix's revenue and gross-margin objectives. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated sales professional who is comfortable creating new opportunities, developing long-term business relationships, and representing Kinetix as a knowledgeable and professional fire and life-safety partner. Sales Territory The Sales Executive will be responsible for new business development within the Baltimore Metropolitan Area , with a primary sales territory consisting of:
  • Anne Arundel County
  • Howard County
  • Carroll County
  • Baltimore County
  • Harford County
  • Baltimore City The Sales Executive is expected to actively develop and maintain a strong market presence throughout the assigned territory.
This includes identifying prospective customers, developing referral and industry relationships, conducting regular customer and prospect visits, and building a sustainable pipeline of recurring fire alarm and sprinkler ITM opportunities. Opportunities outside the assigned territory may be pursued or assigned with the approval of the Sales Manager. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Prospecting
  • Identify and develop new customers and opportunities for recurring fire alarm and sprinkler inspection, testing, and maintenance services.
  • Maintain consistent outbound prospecting through telephone calls, email, networking, referrals, site visits, industry relationships, and other business-development activities.
  • Develop relationships with facility managers, property managers, building owners, general contractors, government agencies, institutional clients, and other decision-makers responsible for fire and life-safety services.
  • Identify facilities and organizations that align with Kinetix's capabilities, geographic coverage, and strategic growth objectives.
  • Develop opportunities within commercial, government, institutional, healthcare, property management, mission-critical, and other targeted markets.
  • Research prospective customers and facilities throughout the assigned territory to identify potential ITM opportunities.
  • Leverage existing relationships, industry contacts, referrals, networking organizations, and market intelligence to generate qualified opportunities.
  • Represent Kinetix at customer meetings, networking events, trade associations, industry functions, and other business-development activities as appropriate.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the assigned territory, including major property owners, property management companies, facility operators, contractors, institutions, and other potential customers. Opportunity Development & Sales
  • Meet with prospective customers to understand their facilities, existing systems, compliance requirements, service challenges, and procurement processes.
  • Conduct or coordinate site surveys necessary to develop appropriate scopes of work.
  • Develop a working understanding of applicable inspection and testing requirements for fire alarm and water-based fire protection systems.
  • Coordinate with Operations, field personnel, estimating resources, and management to ensure proposed scopes accurately reflect customer requirements and Kinetix's capabilities.
  • Prepare, present, and follow up on proposals in a timely and professional manner.
  • Clearly communicate Kinetix's value proposition, technical capabilities, service model, and differentiators to prospective customers.
  • Manage opportunities from initial identification through proposal, negotiation, award, and transition.
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms within established company guidelines and approval authority.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up on outstanding proposals and actively work opportunities toward a defined outcome.
  • Identify opportunities for additional fire and life-safety services when appropriate.
  • Maintain an appropriate balance between developing near-term opportunities and building relationships that support longer-term territory growth. Sales Pipeline & CRM Management
  • Maintain an accurate and current sales pipeline within the company's CRM and other designated sales systems.
  • Document customer contacts, opportunities, proposal activity, next steps, expected close dates, estimated contract values, and other required information.
  • Maintain sufficient qualified pipeline coverage to support assigned sales goals.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and participate in regularly scheduled sales and pipeline reviews.
  • Monitor aging opportunities and take appropriate action to advance, close, or disqualify opportunities.
  • Maintain disciplined follow-up and CRM documentation throughout the sales process.
  • Develop and maintain prospect lists and territory-development plans for targeted customers and market segments.
  • Utilize CRM data and sales activity to evaluate territory penetration and identify areas requiring additional business-development activity. Contract Transition & Internal Coordination
  • Ensure awarded contracts are properly transitioned from Sales to Operations and Account Management.
  • Provide complete and accurate information regarding scope, pricing, customer expectations, schedules, special requirements, and commitments made during the sales process.
  • Participate in internal turnover meetings for new contracts when appropriate.
  • Maintain involvement during the initial transition period to support a positive customer experience.
  • Following successful transition, ongoing account management will generally transfer to the assigned Account Manager, allowing the Sales Executive to maintain a primary focus on new business development.
  • Work collaboratively with Account Managers to identify opportunities where new facilities, locations, or service lines represent meaningful new-business opportunities.
  • Maintain open communication with Operations regarding prospective work to ensure Kinetix has the resources and capabilities necessary to successfully perform proposed services. Performance Expectations Performance will be measured using a combination of quantitative and qualitative factors, including:
  • New recurring ITM contract revenue.
  • Gross profit and gross-margin performance.
  • Achievement of assigned sales goals and quotas.
  • Development and maintenance of an appropriate qualified sales pipeline.
  • New customer acquisition.
  • Territory penetration and development.
  • Proposal volume and quality.
  • Sales win rate.
  • Sales cycle management.
  • Prospecting and business-development activity.
  • Accuracy of sales forecasting.
  • CRM utilization and documentation.
  • Successful transition of awarded contracts to Operations and Account Management.
  • Professional representation of Kinetix and adherence to company standards. Specific sales quotas, pipeline requirements, activity expectations, gross-margin objectives, and other annual performance goals will be established by the Sales Manager and company leadership.   • Professional judgment and the ability to represent Kinetix effectively with customers and industry partners. Preferred Industry Knowledge Experience within the fire protection, fire alarm, life-safety, electrical, mechanical, building-services, or related industries is strongly preferred. Knowledge of the following is beneficial:
  • Fire alarm inspection, testing, and maintenance.
  • Automatic sprinkler inspection, testing, and maintenance.
  • NFPA 25 requirements for water-based fire protection systems.
  • NFPA 72 requirements for fire alarm and signaling systems.
  • Applicable local and state inspection and compliance requirements.
  • Service and inspection contract development.
  • Commercial and government contracting environments.
  • Facility management and property management organizations. Candidates with a strong demonstrated record of successful B2B sales and new-business development who do not have direct fire protection experience may also be considered. Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, construction management, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Three or more years of successful B2B sales, business development, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience selling recurring service, inspection, maintenance, or technical service agreements strongly preferred.
  • Fire protection or life-safety industry experience preferred.
  • Experience selling to commercial, government, institutional, healthcare, property management, or mission-critical customers is a plus.
  • Existing professional relationships within the Baltimore Metropolitan Area are beneficial but not required. Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout Anne Arundel, Howard, Carroll, Baltimore, and Harford Counties and Baltimore City.
  • Ability to travel to other Kinetix locations or customer facilities as required.
  • Ability to visit customer facilities, construction sites, mechanical spaces, and other areas necessary to evaluate prospective work.
  • Ability to successfully meet customer-specific security, background, or access requirements when applicable.
  • Willingness to attend customer meetings, networking events, and industry functions outside normal business hours when reasonably required.
Work Environment This position requires a combination of office work, customer meetings, business-development activities, and field/site visits throughout the assigned sales territory. The Sales Executive is expected to independently manage their schedule and maintain an appropriate balance between prospecting, customer engagement, site visits, proposal development, follow-up, networking, and internal coordination. Regular presence within the assigned territory is an essential component of successfully developing the market. Position Accountability The Sales Executive is ultimately accountable for creating and converting new opportunities into profitable, recurring customer relationships for Kinetix Fire & Life Safety. Success in this position requires consistent prospecting and pipeline development—not simply responding to incoming opportunities. The Sales Executive is expected to actively create new opportunities, establish relationships with prospective customers, maintain disciplined follow-up, and develop a sustainable pipeline capable of supporting Kinetix's long-term growth objectives within the Baltimore Metropolitan Area.
