Fire Sprinkler Service Technician - Entry Level to Experienced Long Island / New York City | Manhattan & Five Boroughs We're growing — and we're hiring TWO Fire Sprinkler Service Technicians to join our New York team. Relay Fire & Safety is expanding our sprinkler service business across New York City and Long Island, and we're looking for both an entry-level technician who wants to build a career in fire protection and an experienced sprinkler professional ready for their next opportunity. Whether you've spent years servicing and inspecting sprinkler systems or you're earlier in your career with mechanical, plumbing, pipefitting, construction or fire protection experience, we'd like to hear from you. THE OPPORTUNITY

Our New York team is based on Long Island, with the majority of our service work located throughout Manhattan and the five boroughs of New York City . As a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician, you'll work with commercial customers performing inspection, testing, troubleshooting, service and repair of fire sprinkler and related water-based fire protection systems. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Depending on your level of experience, responsibilities may include: Inspecting and testing fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 25 and applicable local requirements Performing sprinkler system service, maintenance and repairs Troubleshooting system deficiencies and identifying necessary repairs Inspecting and testing sprinkler, standpipe and related water-based fire protection components Assisting with or performing fire pump and backflow testing Documenting inspections, repairs, deficiencies and recommendations Communicating findings and deficiencies clearly with customers Maintaining accurate service and inspection records Working safely and professionally at customer locations throughout NYC and Long Island Newer to the industry? You'll have the opportunity to continue building your technical knowledge and hands-on fire protection experience. Already experienced? We're looking for technicians who can bring strong sprinkler service, inspection, testing and troubleshooting skills to a growing operation.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're hiring at multiple experience levels. Experienced Technicians We'd especially like to talk with you if you have: Hands-on fire sprinkler service, inspection, testing and/or repair experience Knowledge of NFPA 25 and water-based fire protection systems Experience troubleshooting sprinkler system deficiencies Experience working in New York City and/or Long Island FDNY S-12 and/or S-13 Certificates of Fitness Nassau County or other applicable local fire protection certifications NICET certification is welcomed, but it is not required for this opportunity. Entry-Level / Developing Technicians You may be a fit if you have: Entry-level fire sprinkler or fire protection experience; OR Experience in plumbing, pipefitting, mechanical trades, construction or a related skilled trade Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools A willingness to learn sprinkler inspection, testing, service and repair Strong reliability and communication skills An interest in building a long-term career in the fire protection industry Existing S-12/S-13 or other local certifications are a plus, but we encourage developing technicians to apply even if you don't have them yet. We will helop you obtain them!!

GETTING TO THE JOB

Our branch is located on Long Island, but most of this position's field work takes place in Manhattan and throughout New York City's five boroughs. Many of our New York technicians use NYC public transportation to travel to customer locations. Relay covers eligible work-related NYC transit/OMNY expenses in accordance with Company policy. A Company vehicle is not provided for this position. We want candidates to understand the travel expectations upfront — if you're comfortable navigating NYC and would rather take the train than spend your day fighting Manhattan traffic, you may actually consider that a perk.
