Americus General Duties Maintains security and order on the South Georgia Technical College campus. Patrols and monitors buildings and campus grounds to prevent and detect security concerns, unauthorized access, and other suspicious activity. Monitors and authorizes the entrance and departure of employees, students, visitors, and other individuals. Responds to alarms, disturbances, criminal complaints, vehicle accidents, fires, natural disasters, and other emergency or hazardous situations. Inspects assigned areas for fire, safety, or environmental hazards and ensures doors, windows, gates, and other access points are secure. Enforces college rules and regulations, provides security for campus events, documents incidents and daily activities, prepares required reports, and performs other assigned duties. Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Minimum Qualifications Ability to differentiate between colors. Ability to work effectively with others. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work nights, weekends, mornings, and other assigned shifts as needed. Must possess a valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in security, safety monitoring, law enforcement, or the military is preferred. Schedule Requirements This is a shift position . Candidates must be available to work different shifts on different days based on departmental needs , including: 7:00 a.m.

m. Candidates must be able and willing to work any of the above shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. This is a part-time, temporary position and will not exceed 25 hours per week . Background Requirements Candidates must successfully complete: Criminal background check Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check Drug screening Compensation $18.00 per hour This is a part-time, temporary position , up to 25 hours per week. Benefits This position does not include State of Georgia benefits and does not guarantee or imply future full-time employment.
