Security Service Administration Reports to: Safety and Security Department Under general supervision, guards, patrols, or monitor premises, facilities, and other areas to prevent theft, violence, and infractions of rules. Secures and protects facilities in case of fires, natural disasters, or other hazardous events. Conduct thorough security screen all visitors entering the locationDuties & Responsibilities:
Monitors stairwells, hallways, and office space at the Outpatient Center to ensure safety of all staff and clients. Conduct Security screenings of visitors entering the building by using metal detector wand Walks through buildings to ensure security; walks staff to cars in parking lot as requested. Keeps clients from congregating in waiting room or in front of building areas to entrance Monitors grounds, including the edges of parking lot, to ensure that it is not being used by those who do not have business at the VPH building. Escorts people off the ground when they are disruptive or trespassing. Enforces agency policies (Tobacco-Free; No Weapons or Illicit Drugs, Safe & Supportive Environment/Disruptive Behavior) Maintains awareness of activities around the building and checks periodically to make sure that employees are safe throughout the building. Be a visible presence around the building; build rapport with clients, visitors, and employees. Coordinates with law enforcement or emergency services personnel as needed. Walks through the building at time of closure to ensure security, making sure all doors are locked and the building is empty. Waiting room management welcomes those entering the building, inquiries about their needs and steers visitors to the appropriate program/suite. Observes and monitors visitors/clients behavior during their visit to the outpatient center. Proactively intervenes and diffuses potentially disruptive situations using established guidelines. Works closely with on site staff for screening of in coming . Assists in crisis situations as appropriate, following emergency protocols and procedures (medical or behavioral crisis). Is competent in avoidance/preventing escalation and will work to verbally neutralize crises in progress. Assist with emergency drills and facility checks of the location Places call to 911 when needed and communicates with first responders; assists in the completion of the related Critical Incident Report documentation. Complies with agency rules and policies on confidentiality and as an agency employee, maintains required professional boundaries with clients. Participates in Health and Safety meetings to ensure knowledge of emergency procedures. Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED AND One year of related experience.Note:
Some positions may require P.O.S.T. certification.Note:
Some positions may require area specific certifications or eligibility.Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum one year experience working in a medical/mental health setting.Outgoing, engaging and personable communication skills.
