Duties Help As a Personnel Security Specialist (GS-0080-09), you will serve as a Personnel Security Specialist, responsible for assisting in the personnel security clearances process and supporting an Administror/Adjudicor with suitability adjudicions /determinions for the fitness and suitability on individuals for entry and retention in sensitive and non-sensitive positions required by Army. Additional, this position will review personnel security background investigions and other source documents th determine suitability, fitness, for federal employment, and other credentialing decisions. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.

This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Must be able to obtain and maintain a top secret clearance within one year of appointment. Irregular and/or overtime (compensory) hours may be required to support operional requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial vehicles to perform temporary duty assignments. This is an Army Nional Guard dual stus technician position which requires military membership. For positions requiring the operion of motor vehicles, candides must have a valid ste driver's license for the ste in which they live or are principally employed.

ENLISTED ONLY GENERAL EXPERIENCE

: Experience, educion or training in collecting and analyzing da effectively, efficiently, and accurely. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical merial. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

: Must have one year equivalent to the next lower grade. Must have experience receiving, reviewing, and submitting requests for personnel clearances for serviced civilian, contractor, and military personnel; checking the request for completeness and accuracy and contacts the Security Manager, Supervisor, points of contact the serviced units, and/or the individual subject of the background/clearance investigion for any questions or corrections th are required; screening personnel, as well as local police records and finance documents for disclosed and undisclosed derogory informion, which may have an impact on the career of the subject under investigion; using computer software such as analysis tools to research and facilite work; maintaining a file for stus of pending investigions, stus of all members, as well as periodic reinvestigions for secret and top secret clearances held; Performing duties reled to assisting suitability adjudicions/determinions for the fitness and suitability of civilian employees, contractors and/or applicants for initial and continuing employment retention.
