In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring live video feeds, identifying potential security threats, and coordinating with response teams to ensure the safety of people and property. Responsibilities Monitor live CCTV feeds across multiple cameras to detect suspicious activity, safety hazards, and security breaches. Operate and control surveillance equipment, including pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras, digital video recorders, and access control systems. Respond immediately to security alarms, incidents, and unusual behavior by following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel. Coordinate with on-site security officers and emergency responders to ensure rapid and effective incident management. Maintain accurate and detailed logs of surveillance activity, incidents, and actions taken during shifts. Conduct periodic reviews of recorded footage to assist in investigations and compile evidence for incident reports. Monitor access control systems and verify the identity of individuals entering restricted areas. Perform routine equipment checks and report any technical malfunctions to the maintenance team for timely resolution. Communicate clear and concise information over radio, phone, and intercom systems during routine and emergency situations. Assist in developing and updating surveillance procedures to improve security effectiveness. Ensure compliance with privacy laws, company policies, and ethical standards when handling surveillance data. Provide support during emergency evacuations and other critical events by guiding security and response teams with real-time information. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in security operations or surveillance is a plus. Proven experience as a CCTV operator, security monitor, or similar role in a security-related environment. Familiarity with CCTV systems, video management software, and access control platforms. Strong attention to detail and the ability to observe and retain visual information for extended periods. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting incidents and coordinating with team members. Ability to remain calm and focused during high-pressure situations and emergencies. Sound judgment and decision-making skills when assessing security risks and determining appropriate responses. Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with digital record keeping and reporting tools. Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Physical ability to sit for long periods, view monitors for extended time, and respond quickly if needed. Clean background check and ability to obtain any required security licenses or certifications for the Union City area.
