Rochester, NY Job Details Full-time $37 - $40 an hour 19 hours ago Qualifications Staff supervision Team leadership Coaching Team development Team training Transportation Security Administration (TSA) protocols Staff development Full Job Description Job Overview RMPS is seeking qualified Lead Transportation Security Officers (LTSOs) to provide day-to-day operational leadership for passenger and checked-baggage screening operations at Rochester's airport. The LTSO is a working lead responsible for coordinating and balancing screening assignments, supporting employee performance and training, monitoring operational conditions and communicating screening and staffing issues to supervisory management. Essential Duties Lead and coordinate TSO screening activities. Assign and balance work according to employee qualifications and operational demand. Support passenger and checked-baggage screening operations. Monitor checkpoint and baggage-screening workload and staffing. Provide technical guidance and coaching to screening personnel. Assist with training and development of team members. Monitor employee work status and operational performance. Assist in resolving routine employee and operational issues. Communicate staffing, equipment and security concerns to supervisory management. Support efficient passenger flow while maintaining required security standards. Respond to irregular operations, screening alarms, incidents and emergencies. Maintain all required TSO and LTSO qualifications and certifications. The DOL description specifically assigns LTSOs responsibility for distributing and balancing workload, coordinating training, monitoring work progress, overseeing checkpoint activities and maintaining adequate screening personnel. Required Qualifications Must meet all applicable TSO eligibility, medical, vetting, training and certification requirements. Must have served at least one year as a certified Level Two TSO before becoming eligible for LTSO. Must successfully complete required LTSO training/certification. Demonstrated leadership and communication skills. Strong understanding of passenger and/or baggage screening operations. Ability to provide coaching and operational direction. Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. The minimum one-year certified Level Two TSO requirement is expressly established in the SPP qualification framework. Preferred Qualifications Current or previous LTSO experience is strongly preferred. Dual passenger and checked-baggage certification, current screening credentials and previous experience with TSA/SPP screening operations are highly desirable. RMPS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
