Job Description

The responsibilities listed below are intended to highlight the key duties of the position and are not all-inclusive. Team members may be asked to perform additional related duties as needed to support the care center's mission and daily operations. Support and promote St. Francis Health Services' Mission, Core Values, and commitment to exceptional care. Perform general maintenance duties and assist with repairs and upkeep throughout the care center. Maintain the appearance of the grounds and facility, including lawn care, snow removal, window washing, and general exterior upkeep. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and assist during maintenance-related emergencies. Participate in meetings, committees, training, and ongoing educational opportunities as directed. Respect resident privacy, dignity, rights, and confidentiality at all times. Communicate concerns, observations, and safety issues promptly to the appropriate supervisor. Work collaboratively with residents, families, visitors, and team members to create a safe and welcoming environment. Maintain a positive, professional, and service-oriented attitude. Follow all safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and hazardous materials procedures. Use proper sanitation practices, body mechanics, and personal protective equipment as required. Report accidents, unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or unusual incidents immediately. Participate in fire drills, safety training, and disaster preparedness activities. Understand and comply with Vulnerable Adult, Abuse Prevention, and Resident Rights policies. Maintain clean, organized, and safe maintenance and work areas. Ensure equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored and functioning appropriately. Perform routine inspections and assist in maintaining a comfortable and hazard-free environment. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Positive attitude with strong customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with elderly and disabled individuals in a compassionate and respectful manner. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or emergency call-backs when needed. Work throughout the care center, indoors and outdoors, in varying weather and environmental conditions. Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and reaching throughout the workday. Ability to safely lift and move up to 30 pounds regularly. Ability to respond to emergency situations and assist during evacuations if necessary. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, maintenance equipment, and other environmental factors common to maintenance work.
