Position Summary We are seeking a skilled, experienced Shop Technician II (Aircraft Maintenance Technician) with expertise in aircraft wheel and brake maintenance to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and overhauls on various aircraft systems, with a primary focus on wheels, brakes, tires, and related components. Key Responsibilities Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft wheels and brakes in accordance with manufacturer manuals (CMM's), FAA regulations, and company procedures. Conduct thorough inspections of wheel and brake assemblies, including visual and dimensional, using calibrated tooling. Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble aircraft wheel and brake systems. Replace brake pads/linings, rotors, seals, bearings, and other worn components. Perform tire changes, wheel balancing, and pressure testing. Troubleshoot and diagnose brake system issues. Document all maintenance actions accurately on work orders and digital systems. Assist with other general component maintenance tasks (blasting, masking, prep for paint) as needed. Ensure all work complies with FAA Part 145 and company quality standards. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Requirements Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician. Working knowledge of FAA regulations, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and maintenance manuals. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and illustrated parts catalogs. Proficient with standard hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and specialized aviation tooling such as torque wrenches, hydraulic presses, and specialized wheel/brake tooling. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, squat, and climb for extended periods. Lift and move components weighing up to 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications Experience with aircraft wheel and brake maintenance (preferred 1+ years specialized experience). FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic certificate preferred. Previous experience in a Part 145 repair station environment. NDT certification (Level I or II) is a plus. Welding or machining experience is a plus.
