With more than 60 years of experience, we are owned and operated by seasoned airline captains and provide professional flight training in one of the nation's premier flying environments. Through partnerships with four major colleges and our work training U.S. Air Force JROTC cadets, we combine academic excellence with real-world aviation experience while preparing the next generation of professional pilots. As one of the region's growing flight training organizations, we operate and maintain a fleet of 35+ Cessna Aircraft including 172s, 152s, 150s, and Piper Senecas, with continued fleet expansion planned. We are seeking a skilled, safety-focused A&P Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. This position is ideal for an FAA-certificated Airframe and Powerplant mechanic who enjoys working in a fast-paced flight training environment and takes pride in maintaining aircraft to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and airworthiness. Schedule Full-time position Monday through Friday, Rotating weekends Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required based on operational needs Scheduling flexibility is appreciated to support aircraft availability and maintenance priorities Compensation Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications Opportunities for overtime based on operational needs What You'll Do Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a growing fleet of 35+ Cessna 172 aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications. Conduct 50-hour, 100-hour, and annual inspections as assigned. Diagnose mechanical discrepancies and perform repairs to return aircraft to service safely and efficiently. Remove, install, repair, and replace aircraft components and systems. Troubleshoot airframe, powerplant, electrical, fuel, ignition, and related aircraft systems. Complete maintenance records and logbook entries accurately in compliance with FAA regulations. Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager and Flight Operations to maximize aircraft availability while maintaining the highest safety standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance facility. Comply with all company safety policies, FAA regulations, and quality assurance procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations, maintenance practices, and aircraft systems Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, and technical publications Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Preferred Two or more years of experience as an A&P Mechanic Experience maintaining Cessna 172 aircraft Experience working in a Part 141 flight school or other high-utilization general aviation environment Inspection Authorization (IA) Physical Requirements Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. While performing the essential duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to: Stand and walk for prolonged periods throughout the workday. Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in confined spaces. Frequently use hands and fingers to operate tools, test equipment, and aircraft components. Lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally up to 75 pounds with assistance. Work on ladders, maintenance stands, and elevated platforms. Read technical manuals, maintenance documentation, and aircraft instrumentation. Distinguish colors necessary for identifying wiring, fluid markings, and aircraft components. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and ground support equipment. Work Environment This position is performed primarily inside an aircraft maintenance hangar with occasional work outdoors on the airport ramp. The hangar is not air-conditioned, and employees may be exposed to varying temperatures depending on the season. The work environment includes exposure to aircraft noise, aviation fuels, lubricants, solvents, and other maintenance-related materials. Appropriate personal protective equipment is provided and required as applicable.
