Low-Voltage Technician Job description: Are you someone who enjoys working with your hands, figuring out how systems work, and solving problems that are not always obvious? VKA Security has been protecting homes and businesses throughout Northeast Florida for over 52 years, and we are looking for Low-Voltage Technicians to help us continue growing and strengthening our Fire and Security Departments. This is a hands-on field position for someone who is mechanically and technically inclined, takes ownership of their work, and wants to continue developing their skills. Experience with fire-alarm or burglar-alarm systems is a plus, but you do not need to know every system we service. We aren't looking for someone who simply wants to pull wire and wait for instructions. We are looking for someone who wants to understand the system, learn how to troubleshoot it, complete quality work, and become a technician our customers and team can depend on. What We're Looking For Experience with low-voltage wiring, electrical work, construction, fire alarms, burglar alarms, access control, CCTV, or a related technical trade Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment Willingness to learn installation, programming, service, and troubleshooting Attention to detail and pride in clean, professional work Ability to work independently as skills and experience develop Strong professionalism, communication skills, and customer presence Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to pass required background and drug screenings Experience with DMP, DSC, Alarm.com, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, Potter, Notifier, or similar systems is a plus. What You'll Own Install, service, and troubleshoot fire-alarm and burglar-alarm systems based on your training and experience Run, terminate, label, and test low-voltage wiring Install panels, devices, sensors, power supplies, and related equipment Test completed work and confirm systems are operating properly Take ownership of assigned work from start to successful completion Maintain accurate job documentation and material tracking Keep your company vehicle, tools, parts, and work areas organized Communicate clearly with customers, Operations, and other technicians Continue building your technical knowledge through field experience and training Represent VKA Security professionally at every customer site Who Thrives at VKA We're looking for someone who: Takes pride in everything they do and wants to become excellent at their trade .
