Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alarm Installer for a company in the London, KY area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining security and alarm systems across various client sites. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in the field. The Alarm Installer will ensure that all systems are installed according to specifications, safety standards, and client requirements, providing reliable security solutions for our customers. Duties Install and configure a variety of security systems including alarms, CCTV, sensors, fire alarms, and surveillance equipment. Run low voltage cabling, electrical wiring, and network cables following schematics and industry standards such as NEC codes. Mount sensors, cameras, control panels, and other hardware using hand tools and power tools. Perform system testing to ensure proper operation of alarm systems, CCTV, IDS, and remote access software. Troubleshoot installation issues on-site and resolve technical problems efficiently. Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and provide system design recommendations. Maintain detailed documentation of installations, configurations, and system layouts. Adhere to safety protocols during installation procedures in construction or telecommunication environments. Provide training to clients on system operation and basic troubleshooting techniques. Skills Strong knowledge of computer networking, computer hardware, and system design principles. Mechanical knowledge related to construction, cabling, lock smithing, and the use of hand tools and power tools. Experience with field service operations involving security systems such as alarms, CCTV, sensors, fire alarms, surveillance cameras, and low voltage electrical systems. Familiarity with schematics, NEC codes, telecommunication standards, and remote access software. Ability to interpret technical diagrams including schematics for security systems and electrical wiring. Knowledge of IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), security protocols, and alarm system sales techniques is a plus. Electrical experience related to cabling installation and troubleshooting low voltage systems. Service technician experience with surveillance or security system installation is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly in complex systems. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
