Lead Fire Sprinkler Technician - Norfolk, VA About the Opportunity Zing is seeking a skilled Lead Fire Sprinkler Technician to join a growing, safety-driven team supporting commercial clients across the Norfolk area and surrounding regions. You'll play a key role in keeping critical fire protection systems operating at peak performance, helping protect people, property, and businesses every single day. What You'll Do Respond to service calls, troubleshoot issues, and perform repairs on fire sprinkler systems Conduct inspections and testing in accordance with NFPA 25 standards Identify code violations and recommend corrective actions Complete detailed service reports and documentation accurately and on time Communicate clearly with customers about system status and necessary repairs Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service support Perform fire pump flow testing (nice to have) What We're Looking For Experience inspecting and repairing fire sprinkler systems Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, especially NFPA 25 Willingness to obtain NICET certification (or already certified) Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Comfortable working on ladders (6-12 ft), lifts, and in tight spaces Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work overhead when needed Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage service documentation efficiently What You'll Get Competitive hourly pay based on experience Overtime perks that actually make it worth your time: Time and a half for evening hours Guaranteed minimum pay for emergency calls Double time for holiday emergency work 401K with company match Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Company-paid Short-Term & Long-Term Disability Company-paid Life and AD&D Insurance Pre-tax health and dependent care accounts Tuition reimbursement Paid time off and holidays Schedule & Location Monday to Friday, between 5:00 AM - 6:00 PM On-call rotation required On-site role based in Norfolk, VA If you're the kind of technician who doesn't cut corners, takes ownership of your work, and wants to be part of a team that actually respects your skills… this is your lane.
