$26.00 - $30.00 per hour Work location: In person Job Overview Jay Collision Center (a part of Jay Auto Group) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Body Shop Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive body repair, a keen eye for detail and passion for delivering high quality work. As a Body Shop Technician you will play a critical role in restoring vehicles to their original condition and ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and collision damage restoration. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including MIG welding), and airless paint sprayers to restore vehicles to their original condition. Fabricate and shape sheet metal components to match factory specifications using fabrication techniques and sheet metal skills. Conduct auto painting and auto glass replacement with precision, ensuring flawless finishes and customer satisfaction. Solder, weld, and assemble vehicle parts while adhering to safety standards and quality controls. Assist with auto restoration projects by restoring vintage or damaged vehicles with meticulous attention to detail. Collaborate with team members on vehicle maintenance tasks and auto estimating processes to ensure timely completion of repairs. Requirements Proven dealership or auto body shop experience demonstrating proficiency in auto body repair techniques. Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, auto painting, auto glass installation, and general automotive repair. Skilled in MIG welding, soldering, fabrication, sheet metal work, and the use of hand tools and power tools. Experience with auto estimating software and customer service skills for effective communication with clients. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a physically demanding environment. Knowledge of auto restoration processes and experience with airless paint spraying is a plus.
