Job Description
Job Overview Morgan Automotive is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Buffer to join our fast-paced reconditioning and detailing department. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for paint correction, deep familiarity with rotary and dual-action polishers, and a commitment to prepping vehicles to the highest showroom standards. Key Responsibilities Perform high-quality paint correction, buffing, compounding, and polishing on new, used, and pre-owned inventory. Inspect vehicle paint surfaces for defects, swirls, scratches, and oxidation, determining the correct pads, compounds, and techniques needed. Safely operate rotary buffers, dual-action (DA) polishers, and other detailing equipment without burning or damaging clear coats and edges. Perform post-buff cleanup, including wiping down residue, wax/sealant application, and final paint protection. Work efficiently alongside the detail and tunnel teams to hit daily inventory turnover goals without sacrificing quality. Maintain a clean, organized work bay and properly care for company tools, chemicals, and equipment. Qualifications & Skills Proven professional experience as an automotive buffer, paint correction specialist, or high-end detailer in a dealership or body shop environment. Deep working knowledge of various paint types, clear coats, and modern detailing chemicals/compounds. Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume production environment while maintaining strict quality control. Strong physical stamina and attention to detail. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
