Responsibilities Remove and replace auto glass using manual cutting tools and power tools with precision and care. Repair or replace automotive glass components, including windshields, side windows, and rear windows, adhering to manufacturer specifications. Handle glass materials safely, ensuring proper storage, transportation, and disposal in compliance with safety protocols. Operate company vehicles to transport tools, equipment, and vehicles as needed for service appointments. Conduct fitting and installation of new glass units, ensuring proper alignment and secure adhesion. Perform minor auto body repairs related to glass installation, including sealing, tinting, and detailing for a polished finish. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including auto estimating documentation and service reports. Follow safety procedures when using power tools and heavy lifting techniques to prevent injury. Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks when required to support overall shop operations. Skills Proven experience in dealership or automotive repair environments with knowledge of auto glass replacement procedures. Familiarity with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibration following windshield replacement. Skilled in manual glass cutting techniques and handling various glass materials safely. Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive systems and vehicle maintenance. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and auto estimating software. Ability to operate heavy machinery safely during installation or removal processes. Knowledge of auto body repair processes such as window tinting, detailing, and assembly work. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about services performed. Experience with automotive glass repair methods and fitting techniques for optimal results.
