Position Summary:

A Trailer Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and readiness of trailers and mobile support units used in emergency response operations. This position ensures vehicles and trailers are safe reliable, and ready for rapid deployment to emergency and field locations. In this role you will be expected to have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in diagnostics and repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair trailers, mobile command units, and emergency response support equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, braking, suspension, and towing systems. Perform preventative maintenance and pre-deployment inspections to ensure units are field-ready. Install, replace, and maintain generators, power systems, appliances, water systems, and other onboard equipment. Respond to field locations as needed to perform emergency repairs and troubleshoot equipment issues. Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and repair records. Coordinate with fleet, operations, and field personnel to prioritize repairs and maintain equipment availability. Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and work environment. Willingness to learn and work on additional equipment including tanks, heavy trucks, and other fleet assets.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license. Experience working on RV's, trailers, heavy equipment, automotive, fleet, or similar mechanical systems. Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills. Knowledge of trailer brakes, axels, suspension, towing systems, and electrical systems. Comfortable working in a field environment and responding to emergency repair needs. Ability to work extended hours, weekends, or participate in on-call rotation when required. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to maintaining emergency equipment in a deployment-ready condition. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
