Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Service Advisor to serve as the primary liaison between customers and our service department. This role involves assessing vehicle needs, recommending services, scheduling repairs, and ensuring a seamless and positive experience that promotes repeat business and high satisfaction scores. Key Responsibilities Greet customers, actively listen to their vehicle concerns, and thoroughly document issues for accurate diagnosis. Inspect vehicles as needed, consult with technicians, and provide clear estimates for repairs and maintenance. Recommend appropriate services, upsell preventative maintenance, and explain benefits to customers in understandable terms. Schedule appointments, manage service workflow, and coordinate loaner vehicles or transportation as required. Communicate progress updates, additional repair needs, and approvals throughout the service process. Prepare and review repair orders, ensure warranty and insurance coverage where applicable, and handle billing accurately. Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and encourage future visits. Maintain accurate records, track customer history, and contribute to achieving department CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) goals. Resolve customer concerns professionally, turning potential issues into opportunities for loyalty. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; postsecondary education in automotive technology or related field (preferred). 2+ years of experience as a Service Advisor, service writer, or in a customer-facing automotive role. Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly. Proficiency in dealership management systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds) and Microsoft Office. ASE certification or manufacturer training is a plus. Proven customer service skills with a track record of high satisfaction ratings. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work flexible hours, including Saturdays.
