This position is ideal for a well-rounded mechanic who is comfortable working on both gas and electric golf cars and enjoys taking on everything from routine maintenance to performance upgrades and full vehicle builds. Technicians will work on golf car systems from A to Z, including engines, motors, batteries, electrical systems, brakes, steering, suspension, drivetrain, wheels and tires, chargers, controllers, lighting, audio systems, 12-volt accessories, lift kits, shocks, and other performance and appearance upgrades. Responsibilities may include diagnostics and troubleshooting, alignments, brake repairs, preventative maintenance, oil and filter changes, battery replacement and upgrades, electric motor and battery conversions, suspension and lift kit installations, tire and wheel installation, and installation of stereo systems, LED lighting, and other accessories. Experience with both traditional lead-acid and newer battery technologies is highly valued. Duties & Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues Perform basic to advanced repairs on gas and electric golf cars Complete routine and preventative maintenance, including oil and filter changes Repair and service braking, steering, suspension, drivetrain, and electrical systems Perform alignments and mount, balance, and dismount wheels and tires Replace, upgrade, and convert batteries, motors, controllers, and related components Install lift kits, shocks, suspension components, and performance upgrades Install 12-volt accessories, stereo systems, LED lighting, and other electrical accessories Modify and upgrade golf cars according to customer specifications Test vehicle functionality and verify repairs before completion Accurately document repairs, labor, parts, and recommendations using Aspen Software Clock in and out of job orders and provide accurate time and labor estimates Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and protocols Communicate repair findings and recommendations clearly with customers and team members Skills & Qualifications 3+ years of automotive, motorsports, golf car, powersports, or equipment repair experience preferred Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic knowledge Experience working with both gas and electric vehicles/equipment Experience with mechanical and hydraulic brake systems Comfortable working with low- and high-voltage electrical systems Knowledge of motors, batteries, controllers, charging systems, wiring, and electrical components Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and computerized diagnostic equipment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple work orders Ability to lift and move parts and equipment weighing up to 80 pounds repeatedly Pay is determined based on demonstrated mechanical skill, technical knowledge, experience, and ability to perform advanced golf car repairs, modifications, and builds.
