Job Overview Auto Tech Specialists is seeking an experienced ASE-Certified Automotive Technician / Automotive Mechanic to join our growing San Diego repair facility. We are looking for a skilled, dependable technician who can confidently diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of domestic, Asian, and European vehicles. Our facility is a 19-bay automotive repair center handling everything from routine maintenance and diagnostics to major mechanical repairs, European vehicles, hybrids, fleet vehicles, and complex drivability concerns. Responsibilities As an Automotive Technician, you will: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, drivability, and vehicle performance concerns Perform complete vehicle inspections and identify needed repairs Perform factory-scheduled maintenance and preventative maintenance Diagnose check-engine lights and warning lights Perform brake, suspension, steering, and chassis repairs Perform cooling system and engine-related repairs Diagnose and repair electrical systems Perform engine and transmission-related diagnostic work Complete fluid services, tune-ups, batteries, belts, hoses, and maintenance services Diagnose and repair European, domestic, and Asian vehicles Perform accurate repairs according to manufacturer specifications Document diagnostic findings and recommended repairs clearly Complete repair orders accurately and efficiently Communicate with service advisors regarding findings, repair needs, and additional work Maintain a clean, professional, and safe work area Perform quality-control inspections before vehicles are returned to customers Qualifications ASE Certification strongly preferred and ASE-Certified applicants will receive priority consideration.

Ideal candidates will have:

3+ years of professional automotive repair experience preferred Current ASE certifications Strong automotive diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Experience with scan tools and modern vehicle diagnostic equipment Strong understanding of electrical and drivability diagnostics Experience performing brakes, suspension, steering, cooling-system, engine, and maintenance repairs Ability to accurately diagnose vehicles rather than simply replace parts Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Experience with BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Toyota, Honda, Lexus, Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge/Ram, hybrid, and European vehicles is a major plus.
