You will learn how to use diagnostic tools and special service equipment Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications Qualifications Technical degree or training preferred ASE certifications preferred Previous service department experience preferred Ability to identify the problem quickly Good knowledge of automobiles Effective analytical and communication skills Good reading, computer, and mathematics skills Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications Should be able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment Ability to lift 50 pounds Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Basic Computer Skills Positive, friendly attitude
