Automotive Service Technician Taylor & Sons Chevrolet | Ponderay, Idaho Full-Time Position Taylor & Sons Chevrolet is seeking an experienced B to A Level Automotive Service Technician to join our service team. We are looking for a skilled, dependable technician who takes pride in quality repairs, accurate diagnosis, and professional workmanship. We understand that experienced technicians have choices. Responsibilities include:
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, drivability, and vehicle system concerns based on your experience and skill level. Perform maintenance and repairs according to manufacturer specifications and dealership procedures. Complete vehicle inspections and identify needed maintenance and repair opportunities. Accurately document diagnostic findings, repairs performed, and recommendations. Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding vehicle condition, diagnosis, repair requirements, and additional work needed. Perform repairs correctly and efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship. Use diagnostic equipment, service information, and technical resources effectively. Maintain an organized and professional work area. Participate in manufacturer and dealership training. Work with the shop foreman and management to continually improve technical knowledge and productivity. Follow dealership and manufacturer safety procedures.Qualifications Ideal candidates will have:
Professional automotive repair experience at the B level or A level technician skill range. Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic ability. Ability to perform repairs independently within their demonstrated skill level. Experience with electrical and drivability diagnosis is highly valued. Ability to accurately use diagnostic equipment and service information. Strong attention to detail and commitment to fixing vehicles correctly. Good communication and organizational skills. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. ASE certifications are preferred but not required. Chevrolet/GM dealership experience is preferred but not required . Training & Career Development We are interested in technicians who want to continue improving their skills. For a qualified candidate, Taylor & Sons Chevrolet will provide a defined training plan and pay for appropriate technical and manufacturer training. If you are currently a strong B level technician with the ability and desire to become an A level diagnostic technician, we are willing to invest in that development. Technicians coming from independent shops or other manufacturers are encouraged to apply. Previous GM experience is helpful, but we are more interested in finding someone with the right technical foundation, work ethic, attitude, and desire to improve.
