Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transmission Technician to join our dynamic automotive repair team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicle transmissions and related mechanical systems. Your expertise will ensure our customers' vehicles operate smoothly and efficiently, providing exceptional service and technical excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of vehicle makes and models, including heavy-duty equipment, while honing your skills in automotive diagnostics and mechanical repair. Duties Diagnose transmission issues using advanced schematics, automotive electrical systems, and diagnostic tools. Repair or replace transmissions, including manual and automatic types, ensuring proper function within powertrain systems. Perform comprehensive vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, shocks & struts replacement, and brake repairs. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical knowledge to disassemble, repair, and reassemble transmission components. Conduct automotive suspension system repairs and ensure proper alignment for optimal vehicle handling. Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems accurately. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle status and recommended services. Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive background working in the automotive repair industry with a focus on transmissions. Strong knowledge of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), automotive electrical systems. Expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems repair, and the use of schematics for troubleshooting. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools. Familiarity with auto estimating, and GM vehicles is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards for automotive service and safety.
