Trust Family Auto Services in East Alton, Illinois is looking for an experienced Automotive Service Writer / Advisor to join our team.

Starting Pay:

$18.00 Per Hour, Based On Experience — With Room To Grow We are a small, established automotive repair operation with four service bays and two technicians. This is not a large franchise dealership where you'll be responsible for managing a huge technician staff or an overwhelming number of repair orders. We're looking for someone with previous automotive service experience who understands how to keep a shop organized, technicians productive and customers informed.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Writing and managing repair orders Communicating with customers and our two technicians Navigating Mitchell automotive repair/service software Preparing estimates and explaining recommended repairs Looking up, sourcing and ordering the correct parts Coordinating parts so technicians aren't left waiting Working with extended warranty companies and obtaining repair authorizations Understanding the difference between failed/broken components and normal wear or maintenance items when handling warranty claims Following up on parts, approvals and repairs Keeping customers informed throughout the repair process Maintaining accurate records and staying organized from vehicle intake through completion

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Previous automotive service writing, service advising, parts or comparable repair-shop experience is important. Mitchell experience is strongly preferred. You don't need to come from a large franchise dealership. Experience in an independent repair facility, automotive parts/service operation, or similar automotive environment can be a great fit. What matters most to us is that you understand the automotive repair process, communicate well, pay attention to details and take ownership of your responsibilities. In a four-bay shop, every position matters. Ordering the correct part, properly handling an extended warranty authorization and keeping a technician moving can make a major difference in the day's productivity. We're looking for someone who takes pride in doing those things right.
