Genesee St., Waukegan, IL Join Our Team Universal Auto Care is looking for a skilled and dependable Automotive Technician to join our team in Waukegan. We're a busy local shop that takes pride in doing quality work, treating customers fairly, and creating a workplace where good technicians are respected and appreciated. If you enjoy diagnosing problems, fixing vehicles the right way, and working with a team that has your back, we'd like to meet you. What You'll Do Perform general automotive repairs and maintenance Diagnose drivability, electrical, and mechanical problems Perform brake, suspension, steering, and exhaust repairs Complete engine and cooling system repairs Perform timing belt and other major repairs Use diagnostic scanners and other shop equipment Inspect vehicles and identify needed repairs Complete work accurately and efficiently Keep your work area clean and organized Communicate with the team about vehicle concerns and repair needs Make sure every vehicle leaves the shop safe and properly repaired What We're Looking For Previous professional automotive repair experience Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good attention to detail Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic Valid driver's license ASE certifications are a plus, but not required Experience with both domestic and import vehicles is a plus Hybrid and EV experience is a plus The Right Person We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and understands that customers are trusting us with their vehicles and their safety.
