Angel Auto

A Level Automotive Technician / Lead Diagnostic Technician

Job Description

Starting at $25.00 per hour guaranteed base, negotiable based on experience, diagnostic ability, certifications, and proven production, plus an aggressive production bonus. Our proposed production plan pays $50 for each eligible billed hour above 80% efficiency. At our 105% production target, total compensation is approximately $78,000 per year , with substantial additional upside for technicians who consistently outperform target. Your hourly base is paid for every actual hour worked, so slow car count, parts delays, approved training, and mentoring do not wipe out your paycheck. Full Time Monday through Friday Approximately 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM We are looking for an experienced A Level Technician who can handle advanced diagnostics, difficult repairs, and serve as the technical leader on the shop floor. This is still a producing technician position. You will spend the majority of your time diagnosing and repairing vehicles while also helping less experienced technicians, reviewing difficult jobs, assisting with quality control, and helping establish strong repair procedures. What You'll Handle Advanced electrical diagnostics Check engine lights and drivability concerns CAN and network communication faults Engine performance diagnosis HVAC diagnosis and repair Brakes Steering and suspension Starting and charging systems Difficult mechanical concerns Previously misdiagnosed vehicles Quality control and repair verification Assisting and mentoring developing technicians How Our Pay Plan Works Your starting hourly base is $25.00 per hour and is negotiable based on experience and demonstrated ability. An experienced diagnostic technician who requires a higher guaranteed base can be considered without eliminating the production incentive structure. The production bonus rewards properly completed and documented work. Approved training, mentoring, parts delays, and qualifying shop controlled downtime will not be treated the same as a technician simply failing to produce. Comebacks and rework do not generate additional production credit. What We Expect Diagnose before replacing parts. Fix the cause whenever possible, not just the symptom. Use service information, wiring diagrams, scan data, meters, scopes, and other diagnostic equipment appropriately. Document what you find. Communicate problems clearly. Verify your repair before the vehicle leaves. Ask for help before guessing. Help make the technicians working around you better. Produce quality work without creating unnecessary comebacks. Qualifications Professional automotive repair experience required. Strong diagnostic ability required. Experience with modern electrical and vehicle communication systems preferred. ASE certifications are preferred but not required. Equivalent real world experience will absolutely be considered. Valid driver's license required. You must be able to clearly document diagnostic findings and repair recommendations. If you are the technician other people bring the weird problems to, and you want a pay plan where your ability and production can actually change your paycheck , we want to talk to you.
