Job Description

We are seeking an experienced automotive mechanic with 3+ years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with maintaining heavy equipment and hydraulics. You'll have the opportunity to work hands-on with everything from small engines to semi-truck engines, from welding to vehicle inspections; You'll be part of a team that keeps our vehicles/equipment in operation.
Summary:
You will work together with the Fleet Service team in maintaining and ensuring that our fleet remains in optimal working condition and is well-presented.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Ensure the fleet is maintained in optimal working conditions and consistently presented with a clean, professional appearance. 2. Conduct DOT and preventative maintenance inspections and provide service for all company equipment. 3. Properly apply
IFTA, MN
Dept. of Health labels, and DOT stickers to equipment as necessary. 4. Adhere to all DOT regulations and Traut Companies' safety rules, procedures, and policies. 5. Aid in evaluating equipment to identify when replacement is necessary. 6. Maintain company-owned tools, ensuring proper check-in and check-out as required. 7. Use computer systems to access and update files needed for maintenance. 8. Ensure the shop is kept clean, organized, and safe for all employees. 9. Maintain a clean and organized appearance in both the building and yard. 10. Wear clean uniforms and maintain a professional, neat appearance at all times. 11. Share knowledge of mechanical repairs, fleet maintenance, and equipment usage with team members. 12. Actively participate in all training sessions, workshops, and other learning opportunities. 13. Collaborate with fellow employees in a respectful and professional manner. 14. Promote Traut Companies' products and services. 15. Assist with unloading freight as needed. 16. Help in other areas as needed.
Job Standards:
Level of Education:
High School Education Level of Experience:
+3 years of mechanical experience in a shop setting
Abilities and Skills:
Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Welding, Electronic Abilities.
Certification Requirements:
Brake Inspection Certificate, DOT Inspector, CDL endorsement (Will train)

Salary Range:
$30 - $35 (Range may increase based on experience)
